We had the good fortune of connecting with Young Shon 216 Impact The Culture Podcast and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Young Shon 216, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I created the “Impact The Culture Podcast” because I’ve been a fan and supporter of Battle Rap for years and I felt there was a lack of coverage and Platforms for battle rap in Cleveland. I’ve attended a lot of battle rap events in Cleveland as well as other cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte New York and more which is where I began to create relationships with some of the biggest battle rappers in the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Most people know me as Young Shon the rapper but others know me as Young Shon the Actor, Model and now Podcaster. I always wanted to use to my talent as a rapper to open other doors in different fields so any type of success in other fields feels good because that was always the goal I never just wanted to be a rapper I always knew I could and would be more than a rapper. And here we are today I’ve officially added podcasting to my resume and it’s become one of favorite business ventures to date.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I actually get to show my city off to out of towners often. I would tell them to visit the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as well as attend a Cavs or Browns game. We also have great food here so we have to go to Zanzi Bar for some Soul Rolls and Kool-aid. There’s alot to do Downtown the Nightlife is amazing here so depending on what type of vibe they’re into we will find the perfect its too many options to not have a great night out in Cleveland.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout out to Cleveland Battle Rapper Fonz. He is a Top Tier Name on the URL but still reaches back out to the city of Cleveland by having events where up and coming local Battle Rappers get to battle more notable names in the game. And he always gives me and my platform exclusive interviews and access to the battlers whenever there’s a opportunity to do so. I respect and appreciate that because as a rapper I know the key to success is relationships networking and talent
