Taking Risk is essential, but how much, when and why? Taking risks effectively is as much of an art as it is a science and we’ve asked some of the brightest folks in the community to tell us about how they think about risk taking.
As the cliché goes, good things happen outside of your comfort zone. I can accredit most of the good things in my life to taking risks. For example, going to college 3 hours away from home at the University of Kentucky. Where I gained more than a marketing degree and made lifelong friends. Including my best friend of 10 years. Taking a call center contracting job right after college and finding a company I’ve been with for 6 years and now work on their marketing team. Risk is inherently a scary thing, so scary it can leave us as balls of stress at night, but the truth is without risk there would be no sacrifice and nothing gained by committing yourself to all the trials life has to offer. We think that is a extraordinary thing. Read more>>
Thats a great question!! Risk is a fascinating concept. It’s like standing at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take. One road seems familiar, safe, and predictable. The other, less traveled, promises the unknown. The challenge lies in deciding which path to choose, especially when our minds play tricks on us, convincing us we know more than we do. Intuition, on the other hand, is a powerful force that can guide us beyond the realm of logic. It’s a feeling, a sense of knowing that transcends rational thought. In my career, I’ve always trusted my intuition over intellectual certainty. I’ve taken risks, not because I knew they would work out, but because I felt they were the right choices. Read more>>
