I want to be remembered as someone who was hardworking and passionate about my career yet remained kind. The music industry can easily make you bitter and frustrated with the world. I don’t like to use the “woman” card, but when you’re confronted with statistics that stack the odds against you simply because you’re a woman, it can be hard to remain silent. It’s something I deal with every day, especially as a woman in production. I see statistics showing that less than 5% of women are involved in the production process. Similar to others in the creative realm, I never considered anything else. I found my lane very early and have always felt comfortable there.
