We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Adam Metheney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matthew Adam, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Salem Center Ohio. A very small town in southeast Ohio. Everyone knows everyone and you treat everyone like family. I think that’s played a big part in who I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Really excited for my new album!! ( it’s out now on all music platforms) I got to where I am today by not giving up. It’s not easy at all at times but worth it. I just want ppl to connect with the songs I write. I just want someone somewhere to hear one of my songs and say wow that’s me!! If I can do that I feel like I’ve done my job.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely take them to Court Street Grill! Best food and bar in town then walk over to the river for some boating and fishing and a round of golf! Can’t get much of a better day than that! ( we would do that every day for a week lol)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh man that’s a loaded question! So many ppl deserve a shoutout. My kids ,for having to hear me sing new songs 1,000 times badly and still act like they love it . My parents for all the support, Brent patterson for putting me on stage for the first time, my fans 100% , all the ppl I’ve got to play music with that’s taught me more than anything about this business. God, and my production team at Red Ridge entertainment for the opportunity to do what I do.
