Meet Rachel Carroll | Owner, Balanced Family Academy of Gahanna

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Carroll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We believed in the message that our business sends which is Every Single Child, Every Single Family, Every Single Teacher, Every Single Day. It’s bigger than owning a business, its teaching and molding the future.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a franchise of Balanced Family Academy that was founded in 2014 in Columbus, Ohio. We provide all inclusive care in state-of-the-art facilities. At BFA we are community driven with the support of our wonderful families that trust us with the most important thing in their life; their children. We make from scratch, nutritious meals every day encouraging healthy eating habits to nourish the mind. Our standard based curriculum is designed around the Ohio Standard of Learning. Included is our Full-Circle Curriculum program which is designed for Children ages six weeks to five years old. It is curated to nurture curiosity, facilitate social growth, and focus on cognitive skills to achieve Kindergarten Readiness. We opened our franchise facilities in July 2023. Both of our buildings are located in Gahanna, which is a suburb of Columbus. The area that we chose is not very familiar with our program, so at first it was hard to navigate. One of the Founders of Balanced Family Academy and the Franchise CEO Rebecca Paul told us “if you build it, they will come” So that is what we did! Coming into this opportunity, we knew what we loved about BFA because we not only worked for this company previously, we also had a daughter who attended and we could see the milestones being met, and exceeded through the curriculum structure. We further learned the importance of community, love and passion for childcare the moment that we opened our doors. Our families that have stayed through the growth can tell you first hand that we are consistently going above and beyond every day to make sure the kids that we have are learning, playing and exploring their minds and bodies every day. We are making a difference one child at a time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to thank Rebecca Paul, Sarah Fite, and Katie Berardi for believing in us day after day. For allowing us to have a seat at their table and learn how to become strong, independent and fearless leaders along side of them.
