Social impact: how does your business help the community or the world?

We asked members of the community how their organizations help the community. We’ve shared some of the responses below.
Fly With Us started as the brainchild of my husband, Jay.We were often having conversations about mental health and the crisis we could see coming as a result of the lack of free, easy to access and quality resources. The Fly With Us Podcast focuses on mental health care and protection. Most people don’t realize how close they are to a mental breakdown. We can all easily recognize how close we are to a financial crisis but we don’t give our mental health that same thought and consideration. Read more>>
I see myself as a Social Impact Artist: this means that I use the power for change and impact that art has to elevate marginalized communities. My vision as an artist is to bring people together through art and storytelling. I seek to create platforms where people who have been overlooked or misrepresented by broader society can reflect to the world how they want to be known. I focus on my subject’s personal stories and values, striving to highlight the beauty within their experiences and the honor and dignity within their personhood. Read more>>
I believe my business helps the world because I get to use the gift that God gave me to make someone else’s day. There have been countless times where I deliver the design my client ordered and they tell me how much joy it just brung them. What could be better than that? There is no better feeling than them telling me that I brought their vision to life and I feel like that doesn’t happen in a lot of industries so I’m just grateful to be able to be apart of it. Beautiful Bosses is an Empowerment for Women all over the world. Women need to know their worth and that they can conquer anything no matter what obstacles we face. So my social impact is keeping women uplifted , encouraged with hope .keeping your faith , believing in yourself . I have events in my community to bring women sisterhood together to support one another women of all colors. My Girl chat live is growing and expanding a safe place for women to join in and have a genuine real conversation. Read more>>
The Balloon Parlor is always looking to see how we can make an impact over income. Our balloon company always goes beyond balloons. We do lots of hands on projects within the community. We work closely with Saturday Hoops, which is a non-profit organization for the youth. We have also volunteered for Shoe for the shoeless. Currently we are packing the parlor with pampers.This Project is running through the month of February. We will collect diapers to distribute diapers out to parents that are in need. We are always seeking new ways to help our communities. We have a few things in the works that will be huge. Read more>>
My career has evolved to currently working with community leaders to bring public art to strengthen their communities.
Community leaders are tasked to make their communities more enticing to current residents, encourage new businesses and workers to locate there, and promote tourism. Juggling those tasks is a complex jigsaw puzzle. My goal is to add public arts as a key piece to their puzzle. Read more>>
