Meet 222bree | Independent Artist, Digital Creator & Mogul

We had the good fortune of connecting with 222bree and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi 222Bree, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because it has always been my outlet for expression—my happy place. The moment I started sharing my music with the world, I realized I could use those moments to inspire others and create a positive impact.
I also love the challenge and creativity that come with being an independent artist. It gives me the freedom to push boundaries and experiment with my sound while staying true to myself. I believe music has the power to bring people together and spark change, and that belief motivates me to keep pushing forward in my creative journey.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is my commitment to being REAL with my audience—every song, every show is a piece of me.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. There have been plenty of ups and downs, but each challenge taught me something valuable. I learned that resilience is key. There were times when I faced doubt, whether from the industry or even from myself, but I pushed through by focusing on my passion and surrounding myself with supportive people who believed in me.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of staying true to yourself and your vision. You can’t please everyone, but if you stay genuine, the right audience will find you.
I want the world to know that 222bree is more than just music—it’s about empowerment, creativity, and building a community. I’m here to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness and keep pushing boundaries, just like I’m doing on my journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were in town, we’d definitely start with a Hangover Easy breakfast—my all-time favorite! For late-night munchies, Latenight Slice by North Market; those speakeasy vibes hit just right sometimes. If there’s a good show, District West is the spot for a freaking blast. We’d also hit up Pins or Scene 75 because I’m a big kid at heart, and Cosi is perfect for embracing that inner child! Plus, we’d have to grab tacos from my favorite secret taco truck in the city—just check my IG to find out which one! To be my friend, you’ve gotta be secure in yourself and open to fun and random adventures. Even though I perform in nightlife, I’d want to show my friend all the cool, engaging parts of the city instead of just the club scene – Scioto Mile, the Columbus zoo and aquarium. There’s so much to experience!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I just want to give a big shoutout to my amazing team—everyone from my security to the door people and management. You all keep everything running smoothly so I can focus on what I love, and I seriously couldn’t grow without you.
A huge thank you to Isodope Beats for being one of the first producers to believe in 222bree; you really saw the vision. And Jimmy Derosa, you put me in my first recording studio and helped kickstart this whole journey—forever grateful for that! Shoutout to Ryan Van Bibber, my high school teacher, for inspiring me early on to be a student to this industry and invest in myself first.
I also want to recognize all the dope artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with along the way. Especially those who stay in touch outside of the music—you know who you are. And last but not least, a huge thank you to my grandma for encouraging me to play the piano; she’s always been my biggest creative inspiration. To my friends, family, and my angels watching over me—thank you for all the love and support. You guys mean the world to me!
