Meet Camryn Schwab | Camryn Elizabeth Photography

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camryn Schwab and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camryn, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a career in photography because I love getting the chance to be a part of the most wonderful time in people’s lives, creating art for them to cherish forever. I love capturing people’s true joy and laughter being around the person they love. There is something magical about being the person that is able to preserve memories for my clients. I have also been drawn to the creative side of photography and getting the chance to try new things with my couples. Truly photography is my creative outlet where time stops and I get to happily focus on my work. I love the challenge of bringing my creative ideas to life through lighting, composition, and posing. It all comes back to knowing that my work can bring joy to others and be a meaningful part of their lives and it is what inspires me in this field.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been passionate about photography, since I was a kid. My dad gave me my first camera and I started off taking my friends’ senior portraits. It was so exciting to get to capture memories for my friends and I knew I needed to find a way to incorporate photography into my life. After going to college and getting my degree in nutrition (another field I am passionate about), I got a job as a dietitian. I knew I needed a creative outlet, so I started Camryn Elizabeth Photography to help fulfill my creative side. Although I still work in dietetics, I absolutely love having the chance to capture the special moments in people’s lives so they can look back on them fondly. I especially love that my business is my full passion project where I get to escape and use my creativity. This has been many years in the making and I have really found my stride working on weddings and engagements. It is such an honor to be chosen to photograph someone’s big life moments, especially getting married. I am so happy I started this business because it has connected me with the most wonderful, kind people.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I am a die-hard Ohio State fan so we would most definitely be going to a football game! After that, I’d take them to the Short North to try some great food (there are too many good options to list out here haha) and finally a stop at Graeters (the BEST ice cream ever). I would be sure to stop by the Scioto Mile on a nice day to take in the cityscape and take a bike ride on the Olentangy trail.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My loving and incredibly supportive husband, Trevor.
