We had the good fortune of connecting with Allie Cline and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Of course one of the most typical answers, I wanted to be my own boss. With photography too I knew I could make something of it. My art along the way was going to be a way for me to lay the groundwork for my kids to have something to show that their mother accomplished. While I am a photographer my goal is to be so much more within the industry that I can build my own little empire.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe when it comes to photography I have photographed most things trying to find my niche. It has been an up and down struggle to find where I fit in within the photography community. One of my greatest accomplishments was realizing that I don’t have to fit in. I can photograph things my way and whether people love it or hate it, it doesn’t matter because I now create for me. I capture things genuinely through my own lens the way I see them and create art without fear of judgement. It’s become so refreshing. I get to tell love stories the way I want, photograph the human body in its many beautiful forms, I love it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I wish I was more adventurous when it came to Columbus but alas, I don’t have the free time I wish I did. However, if I end up in Columbus it is going to be in two areas – the Short North or German Village. The Book Loft? I could be there every single day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband deserves every shout out possible because he is my rock but also my best friend and the assistant behind most everything I create. He has been by my side along this journey. Whether its hanging out with me at a wedding just to remind me to eat something and drink some water or he is doing all the heavy lifting for props and set ups. He wipes my tears when I think I failed. He cheers me on when I doubt myself or feel like I finally got a win. We have been doing this together for over a decade and it’s been the best part of my journey.
