We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonette Russell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonette, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simply, I have been bullied for a very long time when I was a child. I am an adult now who can pay for and dress anyway she so chooses. Let’s help other people gain confidence the way I have.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I feel like what sets me apart from other clothing boutiques is having extended sizing. Most places only have Small-X-Large and we are all different shapes and sizes. Don’t we all deserve to dress pretty? One thing I will say is having a business is not for the weak but I’m doing it and I’m going to keep doing it. And make sure you have great customer service with your customers that’s what keeps them coming back no one wants to come to someone that they can barely get in touch with right?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So my bestfriend and I are really chill our favorite place to go is called The Hyde Out. That’s where we play Darts or try to play pool even though neither one of us can do that. They also have this really big Jenga that she loves to play as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Throughout this time of me having my own business the person that has inspired me the most is my older sister. Her name is Danielle. I have watched her go though the toughest of times and the easiest of times with her catering business.
