Meet Arlinda Self | Wellness Center Instructor/Office Leasing Owner/Community Organizer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arlinda Self and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arlinda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Love. I absolutely love what I do everyday. Knowing that I can get up everyday to provide for my family, provide for my community and love what I do, is one of the best feelings I could ever ask for. I am determined to create generational wealth. My parents were able to pass down to my siblings and I established businesses and I plan to do the same. My husband and my kids are the #1 factor behind my success – LOVE.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have 3 businesses that I am proud of and I consider to be very successful and exciting. I have learned so much while becoming an entrepreneur. Customer service is very important and getting to know your clientele. It’s amazing to work along side family. Family will always be there to hold you accountable. Discipline and being very hands on with your business is probably the most important thing I have learned. You have to get up everyday and WANT it. You have to pray and get up and go get it. Whatever is needed for you and your business to grow, you get up, learn it, and do it.

Self Love Movement- I opened my own non-profit. It’s the 5th year in service to the community. SLM Mission is to help others spiritually, emotionally, and physically grow in love with themselves! We want to make sure others recognize their truth and reason or living everyday by providing meditation for focusing and calming the mind, while the body follows physically in yoga and dance for better health, our overall goal is to teach others to live their authentic lives with compassion for themselves and others through daily and monthly motivational classes and events.

Superior Made Spaces- Recently purchased 3 Large buildings downtown Toledo along with my sister Shirley Roland and my parents Nate & Alicia Lawson. SMS is a property rental management company designed to create affordable commercial and residential living spaces, newly refurbished office spaces downtown Toledo. Small businesses can now office set their business and visit with clients in a professional, private, and premier location. Starting from $350-$650 a month which includes access to parking and over 32 office spaces available to help support small businesses and their growth to Toledo.

Taylor Hyundai Sales Assistant- working with my husband, Lance Self and helping increased sales and helping in the community. Gained large following and creating major business connections in Toledo and surrounding areas.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Toledo is a hidden gem. We have so many amazing places to visit. If you are not stopping by Superior Made Spaces for a leasing office suite or Taylor Hyundai of Toledo for a new or used vehicle. here are a few places or events to stop by and visit.

1. Every August “The R & B Park Jam” at Promenade Park Downtown
2. Mud Hens Stadium and Huntington Center for Walleye Games
3. Downtown Toledo Fresh Market has lots of vendors and events
4. Toledo ZOO (the best zoo ever)

I want to dedicate everything I do to my husband Lance Self, my children Lachell. Amira, and Tris, my parents and siblings. I can’t forget my Taylor Hyundai of Toledo family. If it wasn’t for their support and them being there to help me through all of the challenges and great points in my life, I would not be able to be successful. Thank you to everyone in the community for supporting me and giving me my flowers while I have small businesses. It lets me know that I am doing something right and one day y small business will become a LARGE business soon.
