Meet Bill March | Singer/Songwriter/Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bill March and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bill, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic career because like many others of my generation I was influenced by the Beatles. They made it seem like anything was possible if you bought a guitar (bass guitar in my case), joined a band and started writing songs.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was always in love with music from a young age. I started out listening to records as much as I could and then the burning desire to learn how to play an instrument took over. I used to save every penny that came my way (including my lunch money) to buy guitars. I learned that if you have a goal and you can visualize what you want your life to look like, you can accomplish anything. I wanted to play bass, guitar and piano, and sing lead vocals. I also wanted to write songs. I have accomplished all of those things in my lifetime. I was also part of Beau Coup, a band that made records for a major label.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Little Italy for dinner. I would then take them to hear some of the great local music we have in Cleveland, Ohio.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to Frank J. & Christine R. Calo. My aunt and uncle who raised me. They made it possible for me to get my first bass guitar. They were always supportive of anything I wanted to do with music. They allowed me to play six nights a week in nightclubs while still in high school. The only stipulation was that I needed to keep a B average in school!
