We had the good fortune of connecting with Caleb Coe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caleb, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are multiple aspects of my brand that make up the foundation of Big Cat Performance and Physical Therapy. First and foremost, I refuse to be your typical overconfident PT. I value honesty and I value the pursuit of knowledge, meaning I might not always have the picture perfect solution after an initial evaluation. Athletes and parents alike value honesty, and the fact that I am willing to consistently work with them until we find the correct answer. Another important factor of my success is the idea of personalized, quality care. I believe pain is complex and can’t be fit into any specific box that we find in our textbooks. Instead of getting my patients back to their previous level, I seek to elevate their previous level and ensure that they return feeling stronger, more resilient, and more athletic, than they were before the injury.

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Caleb Coe, and I am the owner and founder of Big Cat Performance and Physical Therapy. I was an All-American linebacker during my four years in college, and during that time, I completed my undergrad in exercise science. From college, I went on to complete my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton, along with becoming a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Through graduate school, I was struck by how outdated the lectures were, while claimed to be evidence-based and up to date. I was extremely burned out of seeing patients in pain, yet being given only simplistic and textbook explanations to help them.

This sense of imposted syndrome and frustration is what caused me to pursue knowledge on my own and open my own practice. At BCP, we pride ourselves on quality care that is personalized and prescribed by physical therapists who are trained specifically to work with athletes. Our treatments are completely individualized to our patients needs, and we work to seek answers alongside our patients without trying to force them into a box.

Since opening in January of 2023, we have had the opportunity to work with high school, college, and professional athletes. We have become an official partner of the USFL (United States Football League) and have worked with hundreds of patients to achieve athletic success. We continue to grow daily, and we’re so thankful for the successes we’ve seen thus far.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Grabengo – For some delicious protein-packed shakes!
First Watch – This is my wife and I’s favorite breakfast spot
720 Market – This is one of my favorite events that goes on in multiple locations around the North Canton area
Pickleball! – Pickleball is one of my favorite hobbies, and there are plenty of courts in this area. Our favorite being the North Canton courts!
Hot Wasabi – This location is the best takeout hibachi!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my team! First and foremost, my wife, Courtney. Courtney is a Registered Dietitian as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She works alongside me to aide in training, nutrition, and (most importantly) organization. She has never let me give up on my dream of opening my own practice, and I couldn’t be more thankful for her.
And more recently, BCP has hired another team member. Mathew Millard is our newest addition to the team! Mathew has his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and we have worked together to fuel each other’s passions for helping athletes get back to their sports better than before.

Finally, I’d like to give a shoutout to the team at 4.40 Performance. BCP is located inside 4.40 Performance, and we’re so thankful for the amazing space they provide the athletes and patients!
