Meet Deanna Guerrieri and Sarah Learn | Jewelry Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deanna Guerrieri and Sarah Learn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deanna and Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My Beverly Jewelry is a best friend duo: Deanna Guerrieri and Sarah Learn! We create vintage inspired pressed flower jewelry! My Beverly Jewelry began back in 2013! We got started by looking for a creative way to unwind and just have a little fun, we had no idea where this would take us! We found inspiration through Deanna’s mom. She began creating and selling her own handmade windchimes at local events. We saw how much fun she was having and thought how cool would it be to make something we loved, and maybe make a little extra cash while doing so. Our Wednesday night wine nights turned into Wednesday night craft nights (still with the wine). We began learning how to work with resin (catching a few things on fire while doing so), then exploring different techniques to grow and press flowers. It was a lot of trial and error at the beginning. It was so rewarding once we got our process down and brought our vision to life!
After the first market we sold our jewelry at, we realized people got excited about what we were creating! Seeing our customers’ excitement first hand forced us to dream a little bigger! We found ourselves coming together working on our line all throughout the week. We began researching how to make our business official. Then started branching out, exploring different avenues of how we could get our product in front of as many people as possible. Within the first year we established an Etsy shop. Soon after shops began carrying our line in their stores! We’ve grown tremendously since then. You can find our jewelry in a number of shops throughout the country!
Its so fun looking back on our early days! We learned a lot along the way! Celebrate your wins, learn from your losses and always be open to trying new ways of doing things!

What should our readers know about your business?
Our pressed flower jewelry collection includes necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, shoe accessories, and more! Our designs showcase many northeast native wildflowers, ferns, and a garden variety such as Roses, Forget-me-nots and Black eyed Susan’s. Our jewelry is handcrafted by us! The pressed flowers found in our designs come from flower shops, local travels, as well as our very own gardens! Each piece is one of a kind. Our designs are made using a variety of metals; brass, stainless steel, and gold plated stainless steel. We hand paint the base color of each of our settings using acrylic paint and then begin placing our arrangement of flowers & preserve in a resin finish for lasting wear. What sets us apart from other pressed flower jewelry designers is our attention to detail, creative process, as well as the arrangement of our flowers. We also offer customization! We can also personalize using wedding, funeral, or any special occasion flower arrangements. This option makes a great gift or keepsake!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
oooh! This is a fun question! First stop would have to be White House Fruit Farms! This is a gem here in our town! White House Fruit Farms has a little bit of everything, and all those things are delicious! White House offers you to shop their own farm grown produce, although their farm market offers so much more! You’re in for a truly fun experience when shopping here! They’re extremely well known for their donuts, and near famous for their blueberry ones! But if you ask us, their banana cream donut with walnuts is where it’s at! They are located on a gorgeous piece of property. You can relax by their lake, admire their flowers and enjoy their family activities throughout the year! They have a food tasting in March, a benefit 5k Run/Walk in May, and summer crop picking activities! You can even find our products for sale in their gift barn for their Fall Harvest Days in September/October, and Christmas On The Farm in December!
When you’re thinking about dinner in Youngstown, you have to think Italian! Giangelos is all things that! Absolutely delicious! You truly can’t go wrong with anything that’s on their menu! Their Margarita pizza is out of this world and their Eggplant Parmesan with Vodka sauce is, chef’s kiss! They also have a sister restaurant called Cafe Capri! This offers more of a fine dining atmosphere and that menu is also phenomenal!
Just looking to hang out? Maybe take in some music? Head over to the West Side Bowl! West Side Bowl is a really cool unique hang out spot! They are a bowling alley that offers soo much more! trivia nights, bar bingo, activities of all kinds, the list goes on and on! What really makes this place unique is their live music! They bring in seriously the coolest bands and genres of all kinds! Bands come from all over the world to play here! Sometimes their shows are even right on the bowling lanes! Very, very, VERY, fun and cool experience!

Our girls, Jessaca Brickley and Alexis Glenn! Over the last year or so we’ve grown My Beverly Jewelry by adding a little team! Being small business owners for nearly ten years, it was a bit of a scary thought to change up the cycle of how we did things. These girls made that process run so smoothly! Lexi and Jess are such kind and loyal ladies, and share a passion for what we do! They are a HUGE help with the events we attend. As well as lots of things that go on behind the scenes, like stocking stores, pouring resin, and nearly any odd task we might need a hand with!! For the first time in years, we’ve been able to spend a little extra quality time with family and friends. It’s all thanks to these angels! We are so thankful to have them in our corner!!
