Meet Dion Green | President of The Fudge Foundation

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dion Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dion, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The impact of what The Fudge Foundation is trying to achieve is to promote healing in our communities and decrease the amount of violence that is occurring in our country by working with our youth and adults in society to offer a positive way of thinking and to change the thought process from a negative outcome to a positive one. The Fudge Foundation also works to eliminate the stigma around trauma in the BIPOC community. Creating safe and brave spaces allows individuals to share and be vulnerable in areas to speak on the issues that bother an individual in a non-judgmental setting.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a survivor, overcoming many personal obstacles and showing others how they can survive, too. I advocate on gun violence, mental health, and gun legislation for gun safety, which was inspired by the mass shooting that occurred in Dayton, Ohio, in August of 2019, which claimed my father’s life who died in my arms that night on the street along with many other innocent victims. So, I travel around the country and in the communities impacted by gun violence and mass shootings to help communities heal from the loss of their loved ones and offer hope in a time when they feel hopeless.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The most credit and recognition goes to my savior Jesus Christ, because without him none of this would exist. But I also do have a great group of people around me who supports me, but also make sure that I am taking care of myself while doing this work that can be draining mentally and emotionally. So, I am thankful for the village he has placed around me while fighting darkness and my own trauma.
