We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasline Rosario and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasline, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
There were a few things that influenced me to start my business! As many young girls do, I always loved playing dress up in my mom and sister’s makeup, from stealing their mascara, lipsticks and eyeshadows to taking pictures. As I started to grow up, I continued using makeup but for a different reason at that point, I wanted to draw less attention to my Eczema. I have had Eczema all over my face/body since I was born and really wanted to show other girls that you aren’t defined by your flaws or “skin issues”! Many times, society does a good job at pointing out imperfections but what if I owned my own? As time went on, I continued developing my craft and practicing applying a full face of makeup on myself. In my sophomore year of high school, I took my first client and 9 years later, I am now a full-time traveling professional makeup artist having serviced over 1,000+ woman from different backgrounds and ethnicities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Throughout the years, I have learned so much about makeup, people, the beauty industry and myself. Being an entrepreneur isn’t the easiest thing to do but seeing the smile on your clients face or seeing your work in different places is such an indescribable feeling. I take pride in providing them a luxury service combined with high quality customer care to give them the “Sari Experience”. From curating a peaceful environment, great conversation to creating lasting relationships, this is what I love. There are a few things I feel that helped me get to where Im at today such as staying open to opportunity/constructive criticism, being willing to listen to your clients and putting them first. We all want to feel valued and heard which is why I try my best to listen to my clients. Even if I don’t know how to do a style, that will never stop me from learning how to. In business, there will always be challenges but as long as you stay focused on the mission, pray and try again, there is nothing you can’t do. Not everyone will be pleased all the time but stay authentic to you and never give up. I am so excited to continue perfecting my craft and I am praying God blesses me with many more experiences and clients! Something I want everyone to know about me and my brand is that it is limitless. Be prepared to see more, experience more and know that nothing is off limits! Let’s see what comes next…

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend is visiting Cleveland, first thing we would do is get some food (a gyro, corn beef, ethnic food or wings)! I am a foodie and so are my friends so we enjoy some fresh, hot food. To grab drinks, some of my favorite mom and pop spots are near Tremont, W.25th or if you want something more social/busy, downtown. For activities, we’d definitely have to go see a sport event such as the Browns or Guardians play, go to a metro park, a museum or even explore some different activities the city has to offer. Being a Clevelander, is being a ride or die fan for your sports teams, win or lose! Im a pretty versatile friend so truly, whatever the mood is, we can adjust to that vibe!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am at In my career had it not been for the support of my partner, close friends and especially my parents who selflessly let their basement be my first “beauty studio”! I would also love to shout out all the amazing makeup artist who have inspired me through the years with their individual artistic abilties and my amazing clients who trust me, refer me, laugh with me and most of all, continue returning. I am beyond grateful to anyone who trusts in my ability enough for me to execute a look!
