We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Hihn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Making sure I have healthy plants, a clean shop and a Knowledgeable staff! We want to make sure people are successful on their plant journey. I take pride in always having a wide variety of plants, pots and other gift options

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are an indoor houseplant boutique. We offer a wide variety of houseplants, pots, locally made items to support other small businesses. We offer small business pop ups free of charge on Saturdays to help out others without a brick and morter. We sell Seasonal items during the holidays like pumpkins and outdoor garland and pines when available

I started RPC by hand painting custom pots with happy messages and adding plants to them. Over the years these have become quite popular, We even take special orders! Our vibe of the shop is definitely something that sets us apart from other plant shops among many other things.

Owning a small business is not an easy task. When your up your up and when your down your down. It can get very scary and stressful at times, long hours lots of hard work… trying to figure out the ebbs and flows but I would not change the path Im on. Its very rewarding and its all mine 🙂
I’m always learning and always trying to make RPC even better!

We are a happy little shop with all kinds of treasures. Its a unique and beautiful environment. We host private parties, from just renting our space to painting pot parties, Terrarium building, Plant care and even kids painting!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting, I would love to take them to Rocky River wine bar, Stino De Napoli ,Saritas or Kitchen Socaial. Lakewood park for some beautiful views of the city and to check out the solstice steps. Definitely our gorgeous metro parks. For some live entertainment Brothers Lounge,. For shopping we would check out all the wonderful local shops Rocky River and Lakewood have to offer. Crocker Park for more of a outdoor mall and grab a few drinks from one of the many new restaurants. Maybe check out a Cavs game or Guardians game

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give thanks to all the local businesses and markets that let me be part of their events. A big thank you to my husband for supporting my idea to start RPC and for all his help with pop ups, set ups, hauling away garbage, helping pick up deliveries when I cant and so much more!
