We had the good fortune of connecting with Kel Haines and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kel, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I started Constant Evolution Fitness with one goal in mind: to help transmen like myself, lose fat & build muscle so they can be their most confident in & out of the gym. With the current political climate in the United States, trans folks need more support than ever. Through my journey I have learned how to use fitness and nutrition to help my mental health and physical health and want to bring these benefits to my community. Through Constant Evolution Fitness I have been able to help folks get the body that they are proud of and deserved all along.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Constant Evolution Fitness as a passion project when I was in my previous career as a food microbiologist working in food safety and quality assurance in a donut factory. As I grew and learned as a coach and took more and more clients on, I was eventually able to make coaching a full time business. Covid pushed all training online, which ended up helping reshape my business from in person coaching to online which enabled me to help more folks around the world not just local to me. While it was not easy growing the business strictly on the internet through mostly Instagram marketing, I was able to learn how to attract folks who needed help, not the transphobic trolls who tend to comment negatively about any trans specific content. I overcame the internal struggle and gain mental toughness to push through the naysayers to help folks like me get the body they always dreamed they would have. It is my firm belief that EVERYONE has the right to feel good, confident and healthy in their bodies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Given a week of playing tourist in Ohio, I would spend half of our time in Columbus and half doing day trips to other cities in Ohio. Of course I would take them to my favorite places to eat in Columbus: Buckeye Donuts, Hounddogs Pizza, Old Town Tavern and Brassica. I would also do a short local brewery tour with the number of amazing breweries around town. I wouldn’t want to miss Seventh Son, Antiques on High, Wolf’s Ridge and Olentangy River Brewing. As for day trips around Ohio, I would of course want to visit Yellow Springs and bop around the shops and hike around John Bryan State Park. I would also bring my friends down to southern Ohio maybe visiting Athens, Hocking Hills and do some camping if we could squeeze it in!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my fiance Madi Kohr, without her support I would not be able to reach and help the community that I want to support. Through her love, support and encouragement I am able to reach trans folks all over the world and keep going with the rampant transphobia on the web to make a positive impact on the community.
