Hi Kenzie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was both deeply personal and intentional. It wasn’t just about offering spray tans— it was about creating a luxury experience that blends artistry, innovation, and personalization. A major driving force behind this decision was witnessing my mother’s multiple battles with skin cancer. Seeing firsthand the risks associated with UV exposure made me more passionate than ever about providing a safer alternative, one that allows our clients to achieve a natural-looking glow without compromising their skin’s health.

Beyond this personal motivation, I also recognized a gap in the spray tan industry. Traditional spray tans often take a one-size-fits-all approach, but I knew that every client has unique skin tones, preferences, and lifestyle needs. With my understanding of color theory, I’m able to create custom blends that perfectly complement each client’s natural undertones. Add-on services like full-body contouring and Brazilian tape tans were not available locally in a luxurious, tailored setting. Recognizing the opportunity, I created and opened my studio in Avon Lake. We offer flawless, long-lasting tans that enhance natural beauty effortlessly, all within an experience like no other.

I take a very personalized approach to each and every tan I do, because I believe everyone deserves a glow that complements who they are. Whether you’re a bride glowing on her special day, an athlete needing a sweat-resistant formula, prepping for a special event or vacation, or simply maintaining your perfect everyday radiance— we’re here to offer you a luxurious, tailored experience.

What makes us different is that we don’t just provide a service, we create an experience. Our clients often say, “I’ve never gotten a spray tan like this before!” From the moment you walk through our doors, you’re not just a client— you’re part of our family. We take the time to truly listen to your needs, crafting each tan to complement your unique skin tone, undertone, vibe, and lifestyle, all while delivering a luxurious, tailored experience.

What excites me most about Glowfully You isn’t just the tans—it’s the feeling I get from helping others feel confident and radiant. Seeing the joy and confidence our clients leave with after their sessions brings me so much happiness. I love watching them embrace their natural beauty and live in their tan, truly glowing from the inside out!

The road to where I am today wasn’t easy— starting and growing a business always comes with challenges, and building a brand that truly reflects my values took time and perseverance. But every challenge has been an opportunity for growth. Along the way, I’ve made it a priority to continuously learn, staying up to date with the latest techniques, technologies, and trends in the industry. There have been many late nights, unexpected hurdles, and even moments of doubt, but overcoming those obstacles has made this journey that much more fulfilling. I’m so proud of the space we’ve created, the clients we have, and the community we’ve built!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area for a week, I’d be determined to show them the best, most exciting, and unique spots, blending a mix of relaxation, adventure, and local flavor. On the first day, as soon as they arrive, we’d kick things off with a fresh spray tan from Glowfully You. While the tan is developing, we’d enjoy a laid-back lunch at Solstice Roasters Café, sipping on delicious coffee and munching on fresh pastries. After the tan is rinsed off, we’d take a stroll through Ohio City, supporting local shops and exploring the West Side Market. For dinner, we’d head to Lago in The Flats for a great meal.

The next day, we’d head over to the Cleveland Museum of Art. Dinner would be at Sora, offering the best sushi and great vibes.

On day three, we’d get coffees from Common Grounds and then head out to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, for a morning hike to connect with nature. Afterward, we’d grab lunch at The Winking Lizard. We’d explore downtown some more and then for dinner, we’d dine at Dante’s — for an evening to remember.

Midweek, we’d head to Michael Angelo’s Winery for a peaceful wine-tasting experience, and then see a performance at Playhouse Square!

To wrap up the week, we’d enjoy a delicious brunch at Juneberry Table. In the afternoon, we’d check out the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Then, for our grand finale, we’d end the week with a delicious dinner at Blue Point Grille— creating the perfect conclusion to a fun week together.

I truly believe that success is a collective effort, and I’m so grateful for all of the incredible people who’ve helped me along the way. First and foremost, thank you to my family, whose love and encouragement has pushed me to follow my dreams and take risks.
