Meet LaKeesha Leonard | Self-Care and Personal Growth Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with LaKeesha Leonard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaKeesha, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I think of the word “balance” I think of everything getting equal time or carrying equal weight so that it “balances” out and I don’t subscribe to that.. Instead, I operate from the concept of overall life harmony. Harmony, by definition, is a pleasing, orderly arrangement of parts and that’s how I approach my life. It’s not about dividing hours between work and personal life, but about giving each area of life – work, relationships, health, creativity, restht, so on and so forth, — the attention and energy it needs, when it needs it so that life feels good to me at each of its different phases. My goal is to create a rhythm that supports my well-being and overall life values, not just my productivity.
However anyone may view it, be it more about balance or harmony, my mindset about it has evolved over time. I used to be team #hustleandgrind – pushing, performing, proving, moving on minimal sleep. Somewhere along the way, while intentionally on my personal growth journey I became wiser and things shifted for me. For quite a while now I’ve been all about only taking inspired action, all flow – no force, protecting myself from burnout, and honoring rest as a critical starting point of my daily journey rather than it being a reward for execution.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My work centers around helping women who feel stuck reconnect with their joy, get clear about what they want, and take goal-aligned action. My purpose is to help women feel deeply connected and be confidently willing to be seen and heard. I live out that purpose through my mission: to inspire, equip, empower, and encourage women to live a well-life founded on self-care, personal empowerment, and daily joy. I do this through coaching, cultivating community, creating content, and modeling my own well-life in real time.
What sets me apart is the way I blend deep mindset work with humor, heart, and everyday practicality. I’m not here to just give advice, but rather I see myself as a “guide from the side” helping women tune into their own inner wisdom, make meaningful shifts, and build lives that actually feel good to live. This also comes to life through the podcast I co-host with my sister, Unpacking With The Leonard Sisters where every week we deep-dive into the complexities of personal growth and offer tools, stories, and community to help women navigate their path with more personal power, intention, and joy.
Each one of us has the capacity to be the answer to somebody’s prayer, the solution to somebody’s problem, but if we don’t show up, we can’t serve, support, or make an impact on anybody. I’ve had my own share of transitions, tough seasons, and “in-between” spaces where I felt stuck or uncertain. What got me to where I am now is a mix of faith, inner work, and an unshakable belief that women around me need what I have.
As I continue growing personally and in business one of the biggest lessons I hold on to is that you have to be willing to pause and pivot with grace, always being authentic, because you can’t f*ke alignment. I’ve found that alignment is necessary in order to be in flow, to move in joy, and operation from a place of inspired action.
In a world that often celebrates burnout and quiet suffering, I offer a different rhythm: growth doesn’t have to be lonely or exhausting. My brand is rooted in connection, joy, and showing up as your whole self – both human and magnificent. Whether it’s a coaching session, a podcast episode, or a post in my community space, I want to help women feel seen, supported, and certain that change is possible; no matter where they’re starting from or how long they’ve been stuck. Growth loves company.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m not well-versed on this one.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My long-time dear friend, Jasmine M. McGhee for the undenabile role she has played in my personal growth and, as a natural byproduct, my success in life. Her presence, wisdom, and unwavering support have been a constant source of strength and inspiration. She has challenged me, championed me, and reminded me of who I am during both defining moments and everyday conversations. She’s been a true growth friend, my favorite mirror, and has always allowed me space to be both human and magnificent. I’m deeply grateful for the way she shows up with brilliance, unmatched integrity, and the purest heart. She deserves just as much credit as anyone for the woman I’ve become.
