Meet LaKeisa Ealy | Entertainment Conductor, Business Owner, Marketing Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with LaKeisa Ealy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaKeisa, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is the trust and authenticity people associate with me as an entertainer. It’s the genuine connection and vulnerability I share through my performances that resonate deeply with audiences, providing them with a sense of solace and escape from the challenges of daily life. At the core of my brand is integrity, reflecting my true personality and the purposeful recognition of the gift I’ve been blessed with by God. This foundation of authenticity and integrity is what truly sets my brand apart and drives its success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I refined many of my skills at Wilberforce University before earning a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with an emphasis in Marketing, from Northern Kentucky University. My professional journey in marketing spans over a decade, yet my true passion has always been entertaining people. For more than 35 years, I’ve shared the stage with national recording artists across Cincinnati. However, life’s twists necessitated a shift in focus towards raising my daughter. Upon turning 40, I embraced a new chapter by launching my own entertainment company, Indigo Soul Presents. This venture led to the creation of ‘Kicking it with Kiki’ and the ‘Talk about it Tuesday’ podcast, platforms through which I continue to explore and share my passion for entertainment.
I acknowledge that my journey has been far from easy, yet it’s a path essential for my growth into who I am today. Despite my confidence and relentless pursuit of excellence, connecting with an audience familiar with only a fraction of my life remains a daunting challenge. The dread of letting people down, the risk of miscommunication, and the personal financial stakes—where outcomes can swing dramatically between success and failure—are hurdles I’ve faced. However, I always find the strength to rise after each fall. While I value mentorship greatly, I also believe in the importance of developing one’s vision and understanding before leading others along their path.
I want to convey to the world that I am neither ordinary nor extraordinary in the conventional sense. Instead, I excel in making the ordinary extraordinary. My goal is for Indigo Soul Presents to be recognized as a sanctuary where unique minds and creative spirits can converge, offering a reprieve from their troubles. Beyond being an entertainer, I embody a deeper essence, and in the spirit of Erykah Badu’s words, I’m sensitive about my shhh.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friends are well aware of my fondness for great food and lively entertainment. The weekend’s kickoff often depends on its start, which might be as early as Thursday, with a visit to Nostalgia for a top-notch lemon drop served by my favorite bartender. Then the evening usually progresses to The Jester’s Cigar Lounge and Bar, where we “PSSITA” and indulge in a chocolate martini. If there’s live music in town, you’ll find me at Park Place in Forest Park, enjoying some excellent cover bands. Saturdays might involve a cultured visit to the Cincinnati Art Museum, followed by a delightful dinner at Ivory House. The weekend wraps up beautifully with Sunday worship at Corinthian Baptist Church and a hearty lunch of soul food at Southern Grace, rounding off a perfect blend of relaxation and revelry.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I extend my deepest gratitude and praise to God, my Father, for His endless blessings. A heartfelt acknowledgment goes to my late father, whose passing taught me the resilience and strength to thrive. To my ever-supportive mother, my vibrant and eclectic daughter who infuses every day with joy, and to my incredible circle of friends—the ones who keep me grounded, challenge me to grow, and provide unwavering support—I am eternally grateful. Together, they form the pillars of my strength, accountability, and inspiration. And anyone who believes in my purpose and vision
