We had the good fortune of connecting with Le’Kisha Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Le’Kisha, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I live and have lived in a neighborhood that have a lot of homeless people. There have been times where me and my friend have gathered clothes, shoes etc, from ourselves and others, put tables out with those items and food for them to help themselves. We talked to them and let them know that there are still people out here who care. And hopefully others can see this and have compassion and do this as well in other neighborhoods.
I am also an advocate and active in the Autism community. My youngest was misdiagnosed at age 3 with speech delay, and then diagnosed with Autism at age 8. I published 2 personal journals called “Understanding my child has Autism”. Just something parents or caregivers can write their thoughts and journey on what’s happening on a day to day, living with someone with Autism. I also published weekly journals as well. All on Amazon. You can go to blaqcherriunlimited.com to view all my collections!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started up cycling clothes and other items back in 2007. I only have one kid at the time in a full-time job so I had more time to handle everything. But in 2012 and I have my third daughter it really got slow but I had to get serious and stop holding off, so I got my LLC a year later in 2013 and start busting out homemade handbags and wristlets. Along with other items. But then I was introduced in 2017 with the heat press that I was blessed to get for only $700, a heat press, a printer, some shirts and a huge table from a good friend. I had changed ideas on what I wanted my brand to be like as far as just trying to please everybody or be myself…so I chose to be myself.
I incorporate, aspirations, quotes and poems on my shirts and other items. I like to motivate women of color and all women to be theirselves and inspire others to do so as well. Love your self, your voice, and your image. Also incorporate using AI for most of my images because the images in AI is coming from my thoughts and how I want to see things. If women can get their thoughts of an image on paper through AI, you would be surprised with the outcome.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! Columbus has so many hidden gems around. I would take them to Downtown Columbus and work our way to the Short North. I would hang out one day in Old Town East on Parsons as well. I would also take them to the new developments in my neighborhood of Franklinton where the 400 West Rich St area has new coffee shops, restaurants and arts and creativity bars as well!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I give ALL the credit to GOD! He made this happen. And honestly there are so many people that I can’t name them all on here lol. There isn’t enough room. But I know my family has been the BIGGEST support system I have. I run ideas through them all the time. My closest friends, old co-workers, to my old supervisors, mentors and people I just run into in the streets to social media.
