We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Fekete, E-RYT 500, CHC, BCHHP and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maggie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Professionally, I started providing health and wellness guidance within hospitals. I serviced large state-of-the-art facilities and small community hospitals for a total of 10 years (2002-2012). The time and attention that I was allowed to provide to my clients was dictated by corporate executives. This reality did not sit well with me.

I valued my time at each and every facility, no matter how big or small. I loved the multidisciplinary team approach. I loved learning from everyone on every team. I knew I would stay as long as I could, for the learning experience, but ultimately would need to open my own Private Practice to provide a quality of care that resonated best with my being.

Today, in Private Practice, my clients choose how much time I spend with them rather than corporate executives. Currently, on a weekly basis, the shortest appointment time that is requested of me is 30 minutes and the longest being 2.5 hours. When I host community retreats, twice a year, my clients get to spend at least 21 hours with me over an extended weekend get-a-way or staycation for the locals!

Our next community retreat is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 6th and 7th, 2024! We are encouraging a hotel check-in on Friday, April 5th to ensure everyone is onsite and ready to begin at 9am on Saturday! Consider joining us for our Total Solar Eclipse Yoga Retreat presented by TheGuestBungalow.com – for a weekend full of yoga and guided meditation with live music, a sacred sound bath and ambient acoustic guitar music! Private and couples Thai Yoga Massages will be available as an add-on offering for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! We will be enjoying meals together as a community; crafting mala meditation bracelets; feeling more connected through conversations and cocktails fireside; and experiencing water therapy utilizing a Hydromassage bed and our hotel’s saltwater pool!

You can forever stay up to date on all our retreats, In-Person, On-Demand, and LIVE STREAM by visiting the following link: MaggieFekete.com/post/upgrade-your-experience-to-a-retreat

Of course, private retreats are also available in which a client would determine how much time and attention they desire for self-care, stress reduction, relaxation, and to create a healthy mind space! Private retreats can be one-on-one, couples, and group, such as, friends, family, or colleagues!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Superb customer service and quality of care is what sets my business apart from others. I consider myself married to the art, science, and technology that is yoga. It’s my most sacred goal to share this ancient practice with others through TheGuestBungalow.com – On-Demand 24/7 with Pop-Up LIVE STREAM offerings, and In-Person availability through private appointments and retreats!

I’m most proud of our extensive video library at TheGuestBungalow.com – currently offering 459 videos and counting – covering various styles of yoga, guided meditations, and profound wellness insights to unearth grace! Who does not desire more grace in this lifetime? At The Guest Bungalow, we feel that a regular yogic routine is easily established through 24/7 access to our electronic retreat center. Helping my community establish a regular yogic routine is what brings me the most joy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend lives in the deep South so this question is very realistic!

We love to travel and adventure, thus for our week we enjoy the entire state of Ohio! I feel our state slogan is absolutely perfect…Ohio…Find It Here!

Hosting In-Person Private Retreats for a living, I’m used to creating weeklong itineraries! Luckily, I’ve only received positive reviews from those who have retreated with me!

In the north, we enjoy yoga and meditation on the beaches of Lake Erie and on the Islands of Ohio!

In the southeast, we enjoy forest bathing and hiking meditations in Hocking Hills!

In the southwest, we enjoy grocery shopping internationally at Jungle Jims!

All over the state we would enjoy sushi, if I had it my way! My best friend would probably rather enjoy pizza pie! Growing up in the east, there was nothing better than a square of DiCarlos Pizza, in my opinion, and I’ve dreamed of sharing this experience with him! We came close once but it has yet to manifest, fingers crossed for the future!

In the west, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Yellow Springs! The downtown strip is so cute and quaint! The townies are very warm and welcoming!

Centrally, we enjoy museums: Otherworld, Blockfort, CMOA, and COSI to name a few examples!

I was primarily raised in the state of Ohio. When I was a young adult, I moved away searching for something. Adventuring in North Carolina, Florida, and South Carolina, I came to the realization that what I had been looking for all along was easily found in Ohio! I’ve never been happier to call myself a resident of this fine state!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are countless beautiful individuals who desire credit for where I am today…

(1) My parents for always supporting my professional dreams.
(2) My Cali brother with a background in acting and movie production inspired me to view myself as a producer at TheGuestBungalow.com – taking this electronic retreat center to an entirely new level! It always feels wonderful to level up!
(3) My favorite Experienced & Registered Yoga Teacher, Dehuel Juarbe, E-RYT, for always be on my team and encouraging the growth and development of my practice and electronic retreat center!
(4) My yoga teacher’s nephew, Aleister, who inspired me through his YouTube Channel to conquer video editing!
(5) Nikólaos Hulme – created our watercolor logo for The Guest Bungalow!
(6) Grant Gilliland as The Gross Uncle – created cartoon Maggie for YogawithMaggiePoppins.com
(7) Jamie Sommer – supports and encourages marketing and advertising efforts!
(8) Adiyogi – the source of yoga – the very first yogi to present over 15,000 years ago and to the lineage of yoga teachers that passed along this invaluable information to me.
(9) All my clients sharing their health and wellness journey with me.

Without everyone listed above…I don’t know where exactly I would be…but I’m absolutely sure I would not be sitting here for this interview.
