Meet Manii Iverson | Independent Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Manii Iverson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Manii, how do you think about risk?
The role of taking risks in my life’s consisted of if you aren’t going to be all in for you why should someone else be? And then with that mental understanding you then elevate and understand that not everyone will have the best intentions for you but I’ll say trust God and his timing, because when he says move just do it don’t ever second guess him.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I definitely have a passion for my music. It is my life. I inspire to be a better version of myself. As far as my work ethic goes I work really hard to continue to be better than what I used to be so that means even though I freestyle, I still work on my craft, and even though I don’t like to write, I’m starting to take those initiatives to start writing more because like I said I’m perfecting my craft, so I have to master my craft in order to be the best at it. I got to where I am today professionally by taking a chance on myself it wasn’t easy but like I said, you have a lot of people in this industry and in your family as well as life that may not really support you fully but you can’t let that distract you you have to keep going, even if someone else doesn’t see your dream Don’t stop believing in your own dream. Nothing was ever handed to me so nothing ever came easy I overcame the challenges because I had knew I had to work smarter not harder and I definitely wanted to be different in the industry. I don’t want to be like everybody else I want to continue to be myself the lessons that I learned a long days journey is that not everybody is your friend and not everybody has your best interest and sometimes the best decisions in life do come from letting people go so you can grow. Something that I want the world to know about me is that I will be everything that I ever said I will be and I will have everything that I said will have because that’s just the type of person I am I won’t stop until my dreams come true and I hope that this will inspire the next person to keep going regardless of the situation.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city are downtown Cleveland, Blue, Point, Grille, and bar, or sometimes karaoke bars I love to visit the Cleveland Public library, as well as I love to hang out at the studio in Cleveland, and I also have another studio in Euclid, and I also want to show some love to willoughby because that’s why I first started out with my music actually jumping off the porch for the first time into this amazing world of sound. Honestly, I’ve been some of everywhere but I haven’t been everywhere but the places that I have been I make sure I leave my mark everywhere I go, if you guys get a second make sure you check out otani noodle downtown cleveland, colossal cupcakes, and the house of blues is always lit an up for a good time. Shout out to mentor Mall because I love going to Pink for my last minute fits, and shout out to Beachwood mallfor having some cute jewelry. And shout out to the Amish country because there’s nothing like going away from the city for a while for peace and quiet and shut out New York. I have up-and-coming trip to visit you guys and I can’t wait for this experience, so stay tune for my new music in my new music video dropping soon.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna give flowers to God for waking me up everyday to be able to accomplish my dreams.
Shout out to my son Artist, I love you so much and you motivate me every day to be better than yesterday. I owe you the world baby and we’re gonna get it.
I wanna give recognition to the ones before me that blessed me by paving a way so that I could find my own route as an independent artist knowing that I’m perfectly imperfect.
Thank you to everyone who also played a part in my success because I mean I wouldn’t be where I am today without people taking a chance on listening to me.
Thank you to my supporters the good and bad let’s continue to grow together.
