We had the good fortune of connecting with Maurandis Berger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maurandis, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel like everything is risky, when we were born it was risky. You have to take chances in order to know, and you’ll take losses as well. But at least you give it a go, I would rather try and fail then not try at all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What’s sets me apart from others is I’m willing to put the work in no matter what. You have to be passionate about your craft almost as bad as you wanna breathe. You won’t know what it’s like to overcome if you always give up and never finish what you start. So I would say the way to overcome obstacles is knowing if you give up not only did you let yourself down but many others as well. Those lessons I had to learn made me a better person, I’ll be the first to say if you don’t give up you’ll get where you need and deserve to be. If it was easy then everyone would do it, but if you feel like your chose to do something then do it. Don’t ignore it, go for yours and show the world who you are and what your about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I was born in Lorain, Ohio on Lake Erie. So I would take them to Lake View Park in Lorain after getting some of the best Puerto Rican food in the world called “Rainbows Bakery” in the Lorain Ohio located on Pearl Street. The food is delicious and you won’t regret trying it. That’s my idea of a great time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes I would like to shout out Sane Productions, a young brilliant film maker on the rise. He has a new movie coming out called “Roofied” which I also have a role in, I can’t wait for everyone to see it. I would also like to shout out Sheneefah Johnson on her new book “Perservere” Sheneefah is also an actress, published author and owner of Alkalina Tea. And one more shout out to David L. Walker another brilliant writer and director. I look forward to everyone seeing his new work.
