We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Lawyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the two most important factors behind the success of my social media platforms are authenticity and consistency! Being open and authentic with my audience has brought a trust between my audience and myself. I have been able to build relationships with so many incredible individuals through my authenticity online. Consistency is also a huge part of being successful in the social media world. Posting on a consistent schedule helps your audience know when to come back and watch your videos and when they can look forward to another upload!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a book content creator on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok! I started creating lifestyle videos years ago on YouTube but was never really able to find a niche. I felt like I couldn’t make a strong connection with an audience. But, about two years ago, I fell in love with reading and came across the book community and have never looked back.

The book community is the most incredible community on the internet (in my opinion) and has been so welcoming. I am so proud of the community I’ve built and become friends with because of my platform. I have been able to meet some of my favorite authors including Rebecca Yarros, Mia Sheridan and Lucy Score who have written stories that I think about to this day.

It definitely hasn’t been any easy journey and there were definitely times I wanted to give up, but there is nothing I love more than creating. I’ve learned that if you love something, you should go for it. I have been able to work with some of my dream brands because I kept going and kept creating. Life is too short to care about what people think. It took me years to find my audience and the people I could truly relate to but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question is perfect because two of my best friends came and visited recently! Because I love books (and most of my friends do as well), my favorite place to take them is The Book Loft. It’s truly one of the most incredible places to get lost in for hours. There are also so many cute small owned bookstores in Columbus. Some of my favorites are Birdie Books and Prologue Bookshop!

I’ve only lived in Columbus for a year and a half, so there are still so many places I need to explore myself! But, some of my favorite coffee shops so far are Fox in the Snow, Pistacia Vera and Parable Cafe. For lunch, I’m always taking my friends to Northstar Cafe, they truly never miss on the food and atmosphere. My go to dinner restaurant is 24 Main in New Albany. They have the best cocktails and great food for sharing. There are so many incredible spots in Columbus and it’s a gem of a place to live!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest supporters in my life are my family and my girlfriend! My family has always encouraged me to strive towards the things I love and have always supported my love for making videos. My parents bought me my first camera years ago when I first expressed my interest in creating videos and they’ve watched every video I’ve made since then!

My girlfriend has also been a huge support in my success today. I am able to create content consistently because of how much she helps out. She is constantly giving me new ideas to film and always encourages me to create! I am truly blessed to have the most supportive people surrounding me.
