We had the good fortune of connecting with Nirali Schrader and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nirali, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
For me, it’s all about making my clients happy. Being in the moment of art creation with them, and seeing how much it means to them, is so fulfilling to me. It’s a special and unique experience that is different for everyone, even when they come back to me again, we’ve both changed and so does the art. Nothing beats the smile on their face and seeing their satisfaction when they find something that sparks an interest and brings a little joy to their heart.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an Asian Indian born artist who moved to America in 2007 to earn a double Master’s degree in Education. Teaching in classrooms helped me realize that I wanted to continue to instruct and inspire but in a more creative capacity. After trying this profession, I knew I had to keep my artistic abilities at the forefront of what I do and make moves to transition it from a hobby to a profession. I started my own business, Akron Henna Art, with inspiration from the city where I completed my education and launched a career. Although challenging to build a business from scratch, being able to perform my art for others motivated me along the way and pushed me to be better for my clients. The very personal interaction of creating body art allows me to appreciate my clients on such a deeper level which has been rewarding as I get to see their smiles that much closer.

In my life I have faced a lot of rejection. But every single time I challenge myself to keep going, learn from it, and do better. You never know what a new day will hold and it might just bring what you have been waiting so long for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It would be fun to reconnect at a local restaurant or cafe in Akron. Maybe we could get a bite to eat at a locally owned cafe in the Highland Square area. Closer to downtown Akron my Mandala art is on display near at Lock 3 and we could check that out on the way to a show at the Civic Theatre.
The next day we could take a trip to Stow so I could show my friend my art and the other art from all those that decorated light boxes. Fortunately, one of mine is right in front of Handel’s so we could grab a quick treat then off to Tyrannosaurus Flex for a fun workout.
Another couple of days could be spent in downtown Cleveland between a show in Playhouse Square, some art and science museums and just enjoying the lakefront.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my husband , family and my lovely friends’. Specially who follows me and never stop liking my post.
