Meet Reece Frame | Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reece Frame and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reece, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Many people assume estheticians just “do facials” or that the job is mostly about pampering. In reality, licensed estheticians undergo extensive training in skin biology, ingredient chemistry, sanitation protocols, and even some aspects of dermatology. They need to understand how different skin types react to various treatments, how active ingredients interact with skin at the cellular level, and how to avoid triggering conditions like acne, rosacea, or hyperpigmentation.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Esthetics can be a broad spectrum of different art, practices, and techniques. More commonly you may see the skin care aspect of it all, but there is so much more. Brows, lash extensions, lash lift and tints, waxing, can all be a form of art. I specialize in custom lash extensions. This means every single set I do as an artist would be custom for to my client and their eye/ lash anatomy. As the artist you also need to consider the clients lash density, length, eye shape, and color of lashes. This is not as easy as it may seem. My number one rule when lashes to overcome challenges and perfect your skill is practice. Practice absolutely makes perfect and you’ll learn along the way. Everyone is different, and it is my goal to make the client feel beautiful, look beautiful, while maintaining all safety/ standard precautions.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a huge outdoors lover! I can find beauty in walks and hiking. My first stop would be Virginia Kendall Area located in Summit county. One of my favorite places too enjoy nature and get a little exercise. After that I might follow it up with a cute lunch spot around the area! Natural beauty in our world is so great to appreciate, just like your natural beauty that we can enhance in just the right way!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In life, there are many factors that have led me to where I am today. Friends, family, acquaintances and many more. In my particular case, I would love to dedicate my efforts and future success to my Intro to Physics for Sonography class. Thanks to this class, I was able to realize that the Sonography career path wasn’t for me. Weeks of torture in a class that I despised, who would have thought? But two good things to come out of it, my love for learning about the electricity lessons, and a coinciding Anatomy and Physiology class. Electrical implements and safety play a huge role in the esthetics industry, as well as the anatomy of the human body. Within my anatomy class I came to find myself only interested in the Integumentary system. With this overwhelming feeling of strongly disliking my physics class, and only focused on bits and pieces of my studies, I began researching other career paths. Out of the blue, the esthetics industry was brought to light. Something that never before crossed my mind had now become my sole focus.
