We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharnise Sears and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharnise, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?

At its core, my business is about fostering healthy, lasting relationships. By officiating weddings, I get the unique privilege to be a part of one of the most significant days in a couple’s life. But it’s the role of a premarital and marriage coach that extends this impact far beyond the wedding day. Through coaching, I help couples build strong foundations for their marriage, addressing key aspects like communication, conflict resolution, and mutual understanding. This is crucial in a world where many may not have access to such guidance, especially those who are unchurched or non-religious.

Moreover, the services I provide fill a gap in our community. Many couples seek a personalized, non-traditional approach to their wedding and marriage journey. By offering a non-judgmental, open space, I cater to diverse needs – be it cultural, spiritual, or personal. This inclusivity is vital in fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance in our society.

On a broader scale, by contributing to the health and stability of marriages, my business indirectly benefits the community. Strong, loving relationships often translate into happier individuals, healthier family dynamics, and more resilient communities. Each couple I work with is not just a client but a ripple in the pond of societal well-being.

Ultimately, the goal is to not just witness love but to nurture it – to see it grow and flourish long after the wedding day. The journey of love is a marathon, not a sprint, and being a part of that journey is a profound honor. Through my work, I hope to continue making a difference, one couple at a time, in our community and the world.

What should our readers know about your business?
Delving deeper into my business, several facets distinguish it from others in the field, and there’s much I am proud of and excited about. The journey to where I am today was filled with challenges, but each hurdle presented an opportunity for growth and learning.

What sets my business apart is the unique combination of wedding officiating and marriage coaching. This blend allows me to not only be a part of a couple’s special day but also to contribute to the longevity and health of their marriage. This holistic approach is relatively rare in the industry and resonates deeply with couples who seek a more comprehensive and meaningful engagement with their officiant.

I take immense pride in the personalization of each wedding ceremony and the tailored coaching sessions I provide. My background in biblical studies, coupled with certifications in premarital and marriage coaching, equips me with a unique perspective and skill set. This enables me to cater to a diverse range of couples, including those who are unchurched, non-religious, or seeking guidance outside traditional religious institutions.

The journey to this point wasn’t easy. The initial challenge was transitioning from viewing this as a side hustle to a full-fledged business. It required not just a change in mindset but also considerable effort in marketing, networking, and refining my skills. Overcoming these challenges involved relentless perseverance, learning from feedback, and constantly evolving to meet the needs of my clients.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of genuine connections. My approach is deeply rooted in forming a bond with each couple, understanding their journey, and being a supportive figure beyond just the wedding ceremony. This connection has been a key factor in the success and fulfillment I find in my work.

Another lesson is the power of adaptability and continuous learning. The landscape of weddings and marriage coaching is ever-evolving, and staying abreast of new trends, techniques, and understanding the changing dynamics of relationships has been crucial.

I want the world to know that my brand is more than just a business; it’s a commitment to fostering love, understanding, and long-lasting relationships. My story is a testament to the belief that with passion, dedication, and a willingness to face challenges head-on, one can create a meaningful impact in the lives of others. My mission is to continue spreading love, one couple at a time, and to be a beacon of guidance and support throughout their journey together.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Cleveland for a week-long trip, I’d be thrilled to show them the vibrant culture, fantastic cuisine, and unique experiences this city offers. Cleveland is not just about the famous landmarks; it’s also about the local, often under-the-radar spots that truly make the city shine. Here’s how I’d plan our week:

**Day 1: Exploring Shaker Square and Breakfast Delights**
– We’d start at Shaker Square, a historic and bustling area with a charming vibe.
– Breakfast at The Cleveland Breakfast Club would be a must for some hearty, soulful morning cuisine.
– We’d stroll around the area, catching a movie, and soaking in the architecture and local atmosphere.
– Dinner will need to be a Zanzibar as their turkey chops are a must!

**Day 2: A Day of Pampering and Boutique Shopping**
– A visit to Blush Gallery in Tower City for a makeup session, ensuring we look our best for the day ahead.
– Next, we’d indulge in some shopping at Unscript’d Boutique, perfect for unique fashion finds.
– The afternoon would be spent exploring downtown Cleveland, maybe catching a street performance or visiting a local art gallery.

**Day 3: Wine Tasting and Floral Fun**
– A trip to Magna Wine Boutique in Chagrin Falls for some exquisite wine tasting in a cozy, welcoming setting.
– We’d engage our creative sides at Blossom Flower Bar, building custom bouquets.
– Dinner at Grille River Grille, enjoying delicious cuisine with a scenic view.

**Day 4: Enjoying Chagrin Falls**
– A relaxed morning walking around and shopping local the charming town of Chagrin Falls.
– We’d definitely stop by the falls to enjoy the park and head to Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop for a unique snack experience.

**Day 5: Musical Evening in Downtown**
– Exploring more of downtown Cleveland during the day, maybe visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
-Lunch at Nuevo for an on-the-water experience or Squash the Beef for vegan vibes
– In the evening, we’d head to the Music Box Supper Club for great food and live music, immersing ourselves in Cleveland’s vibrant music scene.

**Day 6: Exploring Cleveland’s Cultural Side**
– Visiting some of Cleveland’s famous cultural spots like the Cleveland Museum of Art or the Museum of Contemporary Art.
– We’d find a local eatery for lunch, perhaps trying some ethnic cuisine like What the Pho Cleveland is known for.

**Day 7: Leisure and Local Exploration**
– A leisurely day visiting local parks or the Cleveland Botanical Garden for some relaxation and nature.
– Wrapping up our trip, we’d choose a local favorite for dinner, maybe a spot on Euclid Ave where all the college kids go.

Throughout the week, we’d be sure to mingle with locals, maybe catching a game if the season is right, or visiting a farmers’ market. The most exciting part about Cleveland is its blend of urban charm and cultural richness, so we’d make sure to soak in as much of this as possible. This itinerary blends relaxation, exploration, and indulgence in local flavors, making it a memorable trip for anyone visiting Cleveland!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wholeheartedly agree that the journey to success is rarely a solo endeavor. It’s the support system around us – friends, mentors, and various sources of inspiration – that fuels our passion and guides our path. For me, the recognition and gratitude I hold extend to an incredible network of individuals who have been pivotal in my journey.

First and foremost, I have to shout out my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My God has given me this vision and this business and without Him, I wouldn’t be able to do any of this. He has blessed me with my tribe of friends and associates in Cleveland and they also deserve immense credit. They’ve been the bedrock of support, offering encouragement, honest feedback, and unyielding belief in my vision. They’ve celebrated my successes and picked me up during setbacks, reminding me constantly of the importance and impact of my work. To these remarkable individuals, I owe a debt of gratitude that words can barely express. Their presence in my life is a constant reminder that together, we can achieve so much more than we can alone.

Additionally, I must mention my mentors, who have guided me with their wisdom and experience. They’ve helped shape my approach, not just as a wedding officiant and coach, but as a person dedicated to spreading love and positivity. Their insights have been invaluable, and their mentorship has been a guiding light in my career.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to various authors and thought leaders whose works have provided me with knowledge, inspiration, and new perspectives. Books on relationships, spirituality, and personal growth have been instrumental in refining my approach and understanding of the complexities of human connections.

Each of these individuals and resources has played a crucial role in my story. They’ve contributed to my growth, both professionally and personally, and have been instrumental in helping me spread love and positivity. Their impact extends beyond just my life; it resonates in the lives of every couple I have had the privilege to work with. So, to my Cleveland tribe, my mentors, and the authors who have enriched my understanding – thank you. Your influence is a constant source of strength and inspiration in my mission to make a difference in the world, one couple at a time.
