Meet Thera Snyder | Pepper Person

We had the good fortune of connecting with Thera Snyder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Thera, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I am notably an all-in, dive head first, we’ll figure it out type person. Although I’ve never considered those actions risky, that is exactly what they are, especially when it comes to making huge life choices such as starting your own business.
Fear of the unknown can make us comfortable and complacent in the known, but some of the most meaningful achievements often require stepping into the unknown. Taking risks can lead to unique experiences, skills, breakthroughs, and failures, all of which are learning experiences. Playing it safe is easy, but doing so can limit potential. Taking risks has been a way for me to challenge myself and open doors that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Risk-taking often drives growth and innovation. It’s been an opportunity to test myself and push boundaries. The ability to adapt – go with the flow – is crucial and helps me respond to unexpected changes. Adjusting my plans along the way or even pivoting entirely if something isn’t working has been vital for bouncing back and moving forward.
Starting Ohi:yo Pepper Co has been an incredible adventure. Sharing our passion of spicy concoctions while learning a whole new way of life and meeting some incredible individuals along the way as been one for the books and a risk that was worth taking.
What should our readers know about your business?
Ohi:yo Pepper Co is a boutique farm specializing in organically grown hot and superhot peppers. We stand out in the hot pepper world by offering freeze-dried hot pepper powders, which preserve the peppers’ intense flavor and natural heat without the need for additives or preservatives. Unlike many competitors who use traditional drying methods, freeze-drying locks in freshness, enhancing the depth of flavor. I am excited to provide the largest collection of freeze dried hot pepper powders for our consumers to choose from.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout from the roof tops my gratitude to my husband and my parents. All 3 have always been incredibly supportive of me in more ways than one. My parents are nurturing, encouraging, and full of wisdom and solicited advice. They are the ones who taught me to laugh at myself and not take life so seriously. Without getting too sappy, my husband is just simply my person. I’m blessed and forever grateful to have my parents and my husband in my corner.
