We had the good fortune of connecting with Tionna Barksdale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tionna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business came from me having a desire to help other people celebrate life’s biggest milestones.

Adding luxury aesthetics to the intimate details of their events or their home and so many other celebrations such as baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, intimate and private dining experiences and more.

I am so grateful for my company because I have been able to work with a lot of diverse communities that help bring about love, joy, compassion, unity and kindness.

With every opportunity to make an impact and a difference people have gravitated to me because of the light that shines within me outwardly.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Beautifully Crafted Interiors, LLC is set apart because we do not treat people like a transaction. And we make ethical decisions when working with others.

We build up our clients and we respect people. When we treat people well we believe kindness comes back to us. We want to model a business that represents our true core values. From the way we treat others to the way that we respond to the people we know and don’t know.

We are most proud of our recent client event at the Luxury Boutique Hotel Leveque in Columbus Ohio. We hosted our first 40th Birthday private gala there. It was spectacular!

Being intentional about the relationships we built in the city of Columbus is so important to us because, when building a business it takes community, time, tenacity, determination, dedication and commitment to see the vision come to fruition. Patience, perseverance, persistence and peace are the biggest skills you need to posess.

You can’t have a mindset of a quitter because, just when you feel like giving up that is when your biggest break though will come to past.

I personally have a lot of faith in GOD! I know that if he called me to it, he will see me through it. And I know that great things take time to build. Building with excellence and not rushing the process is the best decision you could ever make. Never let anyone rush your process. Take your time and build slowly and do it the right way. Ethics truly matter.

The lessons that I have learned from running a business is that I do not expect anyone to do the work that I am not willing to do myself.

Always trust your instincts, ask for help if you are unsure of how to navigate a task or how to accomplish a goal. Take action steps and never over commit to things that will get in the way of your goals for your business.

My goal is to always show up strong for my company. Because I know the value that I carry is worth all of it in the long run.

Through early mornings, late nights and so much more. I have made a decision to never give up or ever quit! My family is depending on me. They are watching me and I want to be a good example for them.

Through proper planning, consistency and reflecting and creating new opportunities to learn and grow as a leader I’ve decided to go for the gusto. To dream big. I know what I am good at and so I give attention and time to what’s important. The details truly matter.

I want the world to know that joy is ment to be had consistently. No matter what joy can be your portion.

Your home environment is supposed to feel welcoming and your life celebrations should be amazing! So choose a company that cares about you and wants to help you celebrate through refinement and elegance.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A few of my favorite places to visit in the city of Columbus are restaurants that give beautiful ambiences and nice scenery. RH interiors, Milestone 229, Jeff Ruby! Love the good food there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to first shout out my husband who continues to believe in my company and I’m so grateful for my family and entrepreneurial connections who speak well of me as well. I know that each opportunity to shout them out speaks volumes so I choose to highlight both Brandon Barksdale Sr & Tonya Kelly of Empower Our Youth Foundation.
