From a young age, I felt a deep connection to being creative and processing emotions through creation. It is almost impossible to avoid the judgement and pressure pushed upon our generation, to pursue a “respectable” path that will guarantee some level of social status and financial stability. A path that will make you stand out amongst your peers and make your parents proud. But I believe there is something more than the norm of student loans and a comfortable house to us dreamers. We have a vision, a calling. We feel like we can leave a mark on this timeline. Doing this as an artist, through music, is a beautiful dream of mine. I know it won’t be easy, almost impossible. Nothing stood out to me on career day at school. Fireman, no. Police officer, hell no. Doctor, too much stress. President, as if id WANT to run this country.. When i was a freshman in high-school, one night while walking home listening to J.cole i realized i could really do this rap stuff. I already had a good singing voice so, the thought to become a musician kinda fell into place from there. It wasn’t till my senior year was when i really locked in and started taking the steps to my goals. At first I pursed to just be big but now i wanna leave a mark in hip-hop history.
