We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasia Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
If I were to be asked “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?” 10 years ago, I would of never thought I would be a licensed Esthetician specializing in all-natural skin care & and hair removal.

I’ve battled with acne prone skin since middle school. From going to the Dermatologist and being prescribed medications to trying drug store skincare products, nothing seemed to work. I started to become insecure and would wear makeup almost everyday.

After high school, I started taking classes at CSCC in hopes of getting my associates in Business Marketing. Not really knowing what I wanted to do with my major, I ended up taking a semester off to breathe a little. I’ve always received compliments on how good I did my makeup so, I got an ideal in my head that I’ll enroll into Esthetics school and become a makeup artist lol. After I finished the Esthetician program, becoming a makeup artist went out the window. I became more interested in treating acne prone skin with organic skincare products.

Fast forward to today, I’m a solo Esthetician working towards an all-natural product line to create more confidence across the world. Oh, and my skin is glowing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I didn’t start my career off as a solo Esthetician. After I received my Esthetician license, I got my first job as a Wax Specialist where I gained customer service skills, learned book building, but most importantly mastered waxing. Although my clients loved traditional wax, I wanted to offer them a form of hair removal that was all-natural. I became a Sugarist and Sugaring has been my most popular service since.

If someone were to tell me building a successful business is easy, I wouldn’t believe them. I’ve had many challenges throughout my journey but overcame all of them. From my first suite not working out to my second suite flooding, I was ready to give up on everything I worked hard for. I had to start over twice in less than a year. Thankfully with the support of mentors and other business professionals, I was able to push through. A day in the life as a solo Esthetician can get a little bananas but it is very rewarding.

At Tasia Marie Esthetics Studio, I created a space for all beauties to experience a luxury organic self care day. I offer full body Sugaring hair removal, Eyebrow shaping, and permanent jewelry. I’m so grateful for all of my clients that continue to follow me on this journey. I wouldn’t have made it this far without them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing me and my friends are going to when they come into town is, eat. My favorite meal is breakfast so for brunch we would have to go to Kitchen Social. The Kee Columbus is a great Sunday Funday spot if we’re trying to eat and have fun. We might buy last minute tickets to a comedy show at the funny bone or concert which is always a good time. Lincoln Social Rooftop is my go to for drinks (specifically lemon drops) ,to catch up with my friends, and get a nice view of the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my Mom. My Mom is the definition of superwomen. Since I could remember, she has never left me to figure things out on my own and has always been there for me to pick up the pieces. One thing I’ve learned from my Mom is, hard work and dedication pays off. She is the reason I push through all of my obstacles. There are many great things I can say about my Mom but I would like to say to her, Thank you for supporting me and always being ready to be my first client/customer for any new business ventures I have.
